Good morning, Gallia County. As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the river cities are preparing to honor fallen heroes with a full slate of events. From Point Pleasant's Saturday parade to Pomeroy's 40th Annual Memorial Run and Gallipolis's Monday morning pancake breakfast followed by downtown commemorations, our communities continue the vital tradition of remembrance while offering opportunities for families to gather.
Summer fun returns in a big splash with the Gallipolis Municipal Pool reopening Saturday after a year-long closure due to filtration issues. The timing couldn't be better as the Gallipolis School Board moves forward with positive changes, approving key staffing positions and valuable educational partnerships with local institutions. These developments, alongside plans for enhanced recreation facilities at Haskins Park, signal a community investing in both its educational foundations and quality of life.
