Gallia County • April 25, 2025
Good morning, Gallia County. Quentin Tarantino's Hollywood horsepower is rolling into our corner of Ohio this month. Two classic Dodge muscle cars from the director's "Death Proof" will headline the annual Fly-In & Car Show on August 23, bringing silver screen excitement to Gallia-Meigs Regional Airport. While these cinematic stars burn rubber on the ground, visitors can also take to the skies with free admission and plane rides beginning at 8 a.m.—all while construction continues on the airport's impressive $2.5 million terminal upgrade.
The wheels of progress are turning elsewhere too, with Mason County Board approving the relocation of an unfinished building at Hannan for a new multi-purpose facility. Meanwhile, our community faces a somber reminder about highway safety after a Gallipolis resident lost his life when his vehicle overturned on State Route 588 early Tuesday morning. The tragic accident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
