Gallia County • February 28, 2025
Good morning, Gallia County. Leadership, like success, starts young - and four Point Pleasant students just proved that by earning spots in West Virginia's premier Girls State program. While their peers are planning summer beach trips, these future leaders will be drafting legislation and running campaigns at Davis and Elkins College, joining the ranks of a program that's launched countless careers in public service.
Meanwhile, Monday morning commuters got an unexpected civics lesson in patience when a fuel-leaking truck decided to reorganize traffic patterns on the Silver Bridge. But it's not all detours and delays - over in Mason County, some sharp young readers just pedaled their way to victory, trading stellar literacy scores for shiny new bikes. Now that's what we call a balanced education.
