🌱 Seeds of success

Gallia County • March 3, 2025

Good morning, Gallia County. February may still be months away, but local FFA members are already planting seeds for recognition. County commissioners have officially proclaimed February 15-22, 2025 as National FFA Week, acknowledging how these young agricultural leaders cultivate citizenship and cooperation while simultaneously approving nearly a million dollars in critical sewer infrastructure improvements. It seems our county understands that investing in both youth and infrastructure yields the greatest harvest.

The competitive spirit is alive across our region, with Ohio Valley Christian girls dominating their way to the OCSAA semifinals after a decisive 51-29 victory. Meanwhile, just across the river, Mason County's industrial landscape continues its dramatic transformation as Fidelis and Babcock & Wilcox join forces to develop a cutting-edge facility converting coal and natural gas into hydrogen – proving that in our corner of Appalachia, both basketball teams and economic opportunities know how to score big.

🏭 Mason County's economic boom continues with major industrial collaboration. Fidelis and Babcock & Wilcox are joining forces to develop a BrightLoop facility north of Point Pleasant that will convert coal, natural gas, and biofuels into hydrogen. The cutting-edge facility will power an on-site AI data campus while creating significant employment opportunities throughout the region.
