Fayette County • June 26, 2025
Good morning, Fayette County. Downtown Washington Court House is blooming with splashes of color thanks to the dedicated Master Gardeners who've transformed ordinary sidewalks into vibrant community spaces. These flowerpots do more than just beautify—they represent the passionate volunteers who recently shared their horticultural expertise with Fayette County Retired Teachers, inviting more residents to sponsor pots and join their colorful mission.
As summer fruits arrive at the Wednesday Farmers Market, bringing the sweet taste of seasonal blueberries and peaches to local tables, change is also ripening in the education sector. Dr. Chris Briggs, who stepped into an interim leadership role just weeks ago, is now poised to become the permanent superintendent of Washington Court House City Schools. The Board will make it official at month's end, providing stability as the district moves forward.
