
🚧 Highland County roadways get major upgrades through 2025. ODOT District 9 has begun resurfacing projects on State Routes 73 and 785, affecting sections between the Adams County line and Deer Run Road. The work, which started June 10, will maintain at least one lane of traffic throughout construction. Additionally, pedestrian safety improvements are underway at the U.S. 50 and U.S. 62 intersection in Hillsboro, with temporary flagging in place. Motorists are advised to remain alert and reduce speed in these work zones, with both projects expected to reach completion by summer 2025.

🧠 Alzheimer's caregivers gain new support in Washington Court House. The Alzheimer's Association's Central Ohio Chapter is launching a monthly Caregiver Support Group starting July 8. Meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at 1867 Old U.S. 35 NW. 🚓 Highland County deals with wave of vandalism and disorderly conduct. The Sheriff's Office responded to multiple vandalism reports on state Route 753 within a two-day period. Several individuals were charged with disorderly conduct, including 26-year-old Malik Ogburn of Hillsboro and 62-year-old David Myers of Greenfield. A domestic violence arrest was also made after deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call in Lynchburg. The Sheriff's Office handled a total of 117 calls for service between June 21-22, including 34 EMS calls, 11 fire calls, and 72 law enforcement responses.
