Fayette County • June 5, 2025
Good morning, Fayette County. The Big Blue Bus has done it again! Washington Court House City Schools' innovative food program has earned national acclaim with its second consecutive "Turnip the Beet" Bronze Award from the USDA. It's a remarkable achievement considering only 20 programs nationwide received this recognition, highlighting the local initiative that has provided over 632,000 free meals to children since 2019. With the Little Blue Truck joining the fleet last year, the program now reaches 12 locations throughout the county, tackling summer food insecurity one meal at a time.
On the law enforcement front, justice moves at its own pace in our region. A Greenfield man finally received his sentence for a 2020 methamphetamine possession case, while a Highland County grand jury recently indicted 13 individuals on various charges. The indictments include a troubling Christmas Eve burglary targeting an elderly victim, reminding us that community vigilance remains essential even during the holiday season.
