South Shore Trucking donated transportation services to deliver Lowe's building materials to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Wilmington on May 1. The donated items from Lowe's Distribution Center in Washington Court House included slightly damaged, returned, or incorrectly ordered products. The ReStore sells these recycled building materials and home goods to fund construction of affordable housing for low-income families in Clinton County. Terminal manager Tom Clark noted the company's commitment to supporting Habitat's mission of creating homeowners who repay interest-free loans and become taxpayers.

The Animals Golf Tournament on June 6 at Buckeye Hills Country Club. Beginning with an 8 a.m. check-in and 9 a.m. shotgun start, the event includes 18 holes of golf, meals, and various contests like longest drive and closest to the pin. Registration costs $250 per foursome with a May 30 deadline, while all proceeds directly support food, shelter, and veterinary care for homeless and neglected animals in Fayette County.
