Good morning, Fayette County. Spring has officially arrived at the Wednesday Farmers Market, where the bounty of the season is now on display from 3-6 p.m. at the TSC parking lot. From fresh asparagus to spring onions and homemade baked goods, local vendors are bringing their best to the table—and with expanded payment options including WIC coupons and Senior Farmers Market benefits, these seasonal treasures are more accessible than ever.

The spirit of community support continues to blossom throughout the county. South Shore Trucking recently delivered a generous haul of building materials to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, while golf enthusiasts can tee up for a cause at the FORE! The Animals Golf Tournament on June 6. With registration open until May 30, participants can enjoy 18 holes knowing their $250 foursome fee directly helps provide care for Fayette County's most vulnerable four-legged residents.

🌽 Local farmers market brings fresh spring bounty to Ohio town. The Wednesday Fayette County Farmers Market has returned for the 2025 season, operating from 3-6 p.m. in the TSC parking lot on Columbus Avenue in Washington Court House. Shoppers can find seasonal offerings including asparagus, spring onions, plants, ground beef, baked goods, and crafted items. The market now accepts various payment methods including charge cards, WIC coupons and Senior Farmers Market benefits, though SNAP/EBT is not currently accepted. 🏗️ Local trucking company delivers generosity with building materials. South Shore Trucking donated transportation services to deliver Lowe's building materials to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Wilmington on May 1. The donated items from Lowe's Distribution Center in Washington Court House included slightly damaged, returned, or incorrectly ordered products. The ReStore sells these recycled building materials and home goods to fund construction of affordable housing for low-income families in Clinton County. Terminal manager Tom Clark noted the company's commitment to supporting Habitat's mission of creating homeowners who repay interest-free loans and become taxpayers.

🏌️ Golfers can swing for shelter animals at upcoming charity tournament. The Fayette Regional Humane Society is hosting its third annual FORE! The Animals Golf Tournament on June 6 at Buckeye Hills Country Club. Beginning with an 8 a.m. check-in and 9 a.m. shotgun start, the event includes 18 holes of golf, meals, and various contests like longest drive and closest to the pin. Registration costs $250 per foursome with a May 30 deadline, while all proceeds directly support food, shelter, and veterinary care for homeless and neglected animals in Fayette County.

Ann Elizabeth Cockerill, 82, of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at her home shortly before 8:40 in the morning. She was a resident of Washington Court House at the time of her death. Her funeral arrangements are being handled by the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, located in Washington Court House. Joseph Moore

Joseph Prudhomme Moore, 93, of Greenfield, Ohio, died on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Parkside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fairfield. He was 93 years old at the time of his passing.
