Good morning, Fayette County. The blank canvas of a gray wall in downtown Washington Court House is transforming into a vibrant floral masterpiece under the cover of darkness. Artist Duane Richard has begun projecting and painting a colorful mural on the side of Flor & Co. flower shop, adding a splash of artistic beauty to the intersection of Court and Main streets that will blossom over the next three weeks.
Meanwhile, the community continues growing in other ways too. The Planning Commission greenlit multiple development projects in a single meeting, including The Overlook's expansive play area and preliminary approval for Love's Travel Stop. For those looking to make a difference while enjoying some recreation, the Fayette Regional Humane Society's FORE! The Animals Golf Tournament on June 6 offers the perfect opportunity to tee off for a cause that provides care for our furry friends in need.

🎨 Artist begins painting vibrant floral mural in nighttime ceremony. Duane Richard started the artwork on the side of Flor & Co. flower shop in Washington Court House, Ohio, projecting the design onto the building under darkness. The mural, located at the corner of Court and Main streets, will transform the gray building wall with colorful flowers. Richard, assisted by Megan Downing, expects the project to take approximately three weeks to complete, weather permitting. Funding for the beautification project comes from a combination of city funds, grant money, and a contribution from shop owner Catherine Yeoman.
