Good morning, Fayette County. Summer vacation might still be fresh, but parents already have their eyes on July's calendar as Fayette County Public Health offers a golden opportunity for young teens. Their Safe Sitter program transforms 6th-8th graders into confident caregivers through comprehensive one-day training sessions that cover everything from CPR to managing a babysitting business—skills that benefit both ambitious young entrepreneurs and parents seeking peace of mind.
While Highland County's emergency services responded to a staggering 102 calls in a single day, Fayette County residents can look forward to something far more positive: free eye care. The upcoming "Better Vision, Better Hope" program at the June 7 Community Health Fair offers uninsured neighbors the chance to receive no-cost eye exams and glasses—a clear example of how community partnerships can help everyone see a brighter future, regardless of financial circumstances.
