🧑‍⚖️ Justice served

Fayette County • March 13, 2025

Good morning, Fayette County. Justice moves forward in our region as Jonathan Lane faces 10-25 years behind bars after being found guilty of horrific crimes against a middle school student. The disturbing case highlights the serious work our legal system undertakes to protect the most vulnerable members of our community, with Lane now awaiting sentencing and mandatory sex offender registration requirements.

Meanwhile, law enforcement across the area has been keeping busy on multiple fronts. Highland County Sheriff's deputies responded to everything from burglary calls to a false gun scare (turns out it was just a lighter), while Washington C.H. Police conducted a week-long citation effort addressing traffic violations and outstanding warrants. Between the two departments, officers handled well over 100 calls in just days, demonstrating the relentless pace of maintaining public safety in our communities.
