🍔 Burger boom

Clermont County • March 11, 2025

Good morning, Clermont County. While winter's grip may be loosening, Cincinnati officials are locked in a frosty debate over whether to invest $1.3 million in four new snowplows. The split decision, which also includes funding for the city's first skate park, highlights the challenging balance between immediate needs and long-term planning as council members prepare for Wednesday's final vote.

Meanwhile, local food enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as By Golly's burger joint expands beyond Cincinnati to Springfield, with Dayton locations potentially on the horizon. The restaurant, known for its premium burgers and signature wing sauces, opens April 23 in the former Roosters location. And if you're looking to fill your calendar, the city is bursting with activities this week – from beer championships to Step Afrika! performances, culminating in St. Patrick's Day festivities complete with parades, Irish music, and the obligatory green beer.

❄️ Cincinnati faces split decision on snowplow purchase. The city council is considering buying four new snowplows using $1.3 million in leftover budget funds, but two council members oppose the purchase. Budget Chair Jeff Cramerding supports the investment as a critical first step in addressing broader fleet issues, which include fire trucks and police vehicles. Opponents argue the city should wait for a Department of Public Services report before making purchases. The funding proposal, which also includes $300,000 for Cincinnati's first skate park, passed committee 5-2 and faces a final vote Wednesday.
