🌊 Summer splash central

Clermont County • March 4, 2025

Good morning, Clermont County. Summer thrills are materializing before our eyes as Kings Island's RiverRacers water coaster takes shape at Soak City. Construction photos reveal the impressive fiberglass track that will soon propel daring riders to speeds of 30 mph through enclosed, light-filled tunnels. Mark your calendars for May 24 when both this high-octane attraction and the family-friendly Splash River Junction make their splashy debut.

In other local developments, West Chester Township is drawing boundaries around Airbnb operations, with proposed zoning changes that would restrict short-term rentals to multi-family and business zones only. And for those willing to cross the Ohio River, Newport Aquarium is preparing a mesmerizing new exhibit featuring nature's most graceful drifters – jellyfish will take center stage beginning March 21, 2025, proving sometimes the most captivating experiences come from simply going with the flow.

🏠 West Chester Twp. to ban Airbnbs in residential areas. The township's proposed zoning changes would only permit short-term rentals in multi-family and business zones on a case-by-case basis. The update, part of a two-year overhaul of zoning regulations, also addresses marijuana facilities, sign requirements, home businesses, and food trucks. Other changes include increasing allowable detached garage sizes and restricting used car sales to accessory uses for new car dealerships. The public can review and comment on the plan online before its anticipated adoption in April.
