Tammy Kay Blake

Tammy Kay Blake, 52, of Nelsonville, passed away on December 15, 2024, at her home. Born on June 25, 1972, she was the daughter of Patricia Fluharty and the late Jerry Waters, and the widow of Brian Reed Blake. Tammy was devoted to her family and animals, and attended the First Baptist Church in Nelsonville. She is survived by her mother, three children, four grandchildren, a brother, and her dog, Coco, and will be remembered for her love of Mountain Dew. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

Thomas L. Anderson

Thomas L. Anderson, 86, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on December 13, 2024, at The Pickering House. Born April 1, 1938, in Nelsonville, he was raised by Estella and George Tolliver after the death of his biological mother. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Tom had a long career in construction, self-employment, and various service roles, all while expressing deep love for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, sister, and his beloved cat, Tino. A small graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, and the family invites memorial donations to local charities.

Shirley Welch

Shirley Welch, 84, of Coolville, OH, passed away on December 16, 2024, at Arcadia Nursing Center. Born on July 2, 1940, she was the daughter of Clyde and Sylvia Cubbison Smith. Shirley is survived by her husband, Don Welch, and their three sons, along with four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, half-brother, and sister. In accordance with her wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be held.

Cathy M. Morris, 72, of Jacksonville, passed away on December 14, 2024, at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. Born on January 17, 1952, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Arlene Champe and James Andrews and retired from Ohio University. She is survived by her daughter Melissa Kilbarger, son Jason Morris, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as siblings and close friends. Preceded in death by her son Jamie Morris and stepfather Ruler Champe, funeral services will be on December 19, 2024, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Chix-4-A-Cure or ALS of Ohio.
