ποΈ Gahanna's Creekside District awaits $105 million transformation. The ambitious redevelopment project, led by Connect Real Estate and Benson Capital, aims to revitalize downtown Gahanna with new mixed-use spaces. While developers have presented their comprehensive plans, they're still working through the city approval process. This project represents one of several major developments underway in the Columbus metro area, joining significant construction initiatives in Marysville and Polaris.
π¦ Upper Arlington's sweet new spot blends coffee and soft serve. Mallway Market Coffee + Cone is coming to the historic district's walkable retail area at 1966 N. Mallway Dr. Owner Alyssa Litzinger designed the grab-and-go concept to fit naturally into people's daily routines, whether it's parents getting coffee or kids enjoying after-school treats. The menu will feature classic vanilla soft serve with chocolate or seasonal flavors, plus sundaes and ice cream sandwiches. On the coffee side, they'll serve One Line Coffee with approachable favorites like lattes and cold brew, with the shop expected to open later this year.
π Columbus stakes its claim as the true home of hamburgers. Travel writer Felicity Cloake explored the city's "beefy heritage," noting White Castle co-founder Walter Anderson essentially invented the hamburger concept in Columbus. Accompanied by Columbus Food Adventures guides, she sampled burgers from Ringside, Ray Ray's, Joya's, Swenson's, White Castle, and Thurman Cafe. Though Cloake didn't crown a definitive winner, she praised Columbus as an "under-the-radar destination" that "packs some serious beef in the dining department."
