Good morning, Westerville. The legendary hands that crafted "Layla" and "Tears in Heaven" will soon strum just minutes from our doorstep. Eric Clapton's limited "An Evening With" tour makes its Columbus stop this September at the Wexner Center, with all proceeds supporting the addiction treatment center the rock icon founded. While music fans mark their calendars for the June 27 ticket release, a somber note reminds us of our community's transportation challenges after a pedestrian lost their life in Monday's tragic collision with a semi-trailer near Obetz.
On a more hopeful note, eighteen newly minted Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are preparing to hit the roads after completing their rigorous 28-week academy training. These graduates, including firearms standout Trooper Gabriel Combs, have mastered everything from crash investigation to emergency vehicle operations. Starting June 22, they'll begin field training under veteran officers, bringing fresh energy to highway safety efforts across the state.
