Good morning, Westerville. The sweet smell of success fills the air on North High Street, where baker Riley Harris transformed a risky credit card strategy into a thriving business. Her "Love Riley" bakery recently celebrated becoming debt-free after bypassing traditional bank loans in favor of 0% interest promotions—a gamble that paid off deliciously. While financial experts caution against such approaches without careful planning, Harris is now accumulating rewards points for a research trip with her team.

Meanwhile, Sunday's dramatic fuel tanker crash on I-270 continues affecting Columbus commuters, with multiple highway closures still in effect after the 8,500-gallon gasoline truck erupted in flames. The incident adds another chapter to the area's transportation challenges. In brighter environmental news, the Scioto River's remarkable transformation from polluted waterway to vibrant centerpiece offers an inspiring reminder of how far our region has come since the days when parts of the river couldn't even support aquatic life.

🍰 Columbus baker turns credit card gamble into sweet success story. Riley Harris opened her bakery "Love Riley" after being denied traditional bank loans, instead leveraging 0% interest promotions on multiple credit cards to fund her dream. The risky strategy paid off—Harris recently celebrated paying off her last card and now runs a profitable brick-and-mortar location on North High Street. Financial experts warn such approaches require careful planning, as high interest rates can quickly derail businesses without a solid repayment strategy. Now debt-free, Harris is accumulating rewards points for a research trip with her team to explore other bakeries.

🌊 Columbus' Scioto River has a dramatic history of pollution and renewal. Once a dumping ground for sewage and industrial waste that caused cholera outbreaks, the river underwent major transformations with the construction of Griggs Dam in 1908 and O'Shaughnessy Dam by 1925. By 1967, water quality had deteriorated so badly that parts of the river smelled like rotten eggs and couldn't support aquatic life. Through decades of environmental regulations and city initiatives, the Scioto has been revitalized, culminating in the creation of the beautiful Scioto Mile riverfront park in 2010.
