The township's Board of Trustees unanimously approved placing a fire levy renewal and increase from 5.3 to 7.7 mills on the May 6 ballot. This comes after a previous fire levy failed in November, resulting in a spending freeze and elimination of overtime for the Fire Department, which has reduced emergency responses. The trustees also approved using American Rescue Plan funds before the December 31, 2024 deadline, allocating $387,000 for a ladder truck and $230,023 for Fire Department personnel. Other township business included rezoning approvals, infrastructure projects, and committee appointments.
