Vinton County • September 2, 2025
Good morning, Vinton County. September 11th continues to echo through our national consciousness more than two decades later. The Chillicothe VA's memorial 5K run offers our community a meaningful way to honor those lost while bringing together veterans, staff, and neighbors on the medical center's scenic grounds. Whether you're running, walking, or simply bearing witness, this third annual event provides space for collective remembrance of a day that changed America forever.
Meanwhile, the rhythm of local life continues with Athens' thriving music scene showcasing diverse talents from Rylee Bapst to the all-girl band Blush challenging industry norms. Closer to home, the Logan Elm FFA Chapter is fostering school spirit with pre-game cookouts, including an upcoming October 3rd event where alumni can share wisdom with the next generation. These gatherings remind us that in small communities, connections made over simple pleasures often create the strongest bonds.
