Good morning, Union County. Central Ohio's sweet tooth has officially been validated. A new statewide ranking confirms what locals have long suspected—our region is the undisputed donut capital of Ohio, claiming an impressive six spots in the top ten. Columbus-area bakeries dominated the list with Resch's taking the crown, proving that when it comes to fried dough perfection, you needn't look beyond your backyard.

In more poignant news, North Lewisburg has lost one of its brightest spirits as Linda Thompson, whose 30-year career as an optician helped countless patients see clearly, passed away at 68. Her optimism despite health challenges leaves a lasting legacy. Meanwhile, the Union County Foundation Gala brought together over 200 community members to celebrate local heroes, with Roger Nicol receiving the prestigious "Pathmaker Award" for his exceptional community contributions.
