Union County • September 23, 2025
Good morning, Union County. Mark your calendars for September 23rd – the "Built On Skills" career expo at Tolles Career & Technical Center is about to connect job seekers with opportunities through something rarely found at typical job fairs: hands-on demonstrations. Visitors can test their skills through virtual reality experiences and tech displays, all while the iconic green Roadtrip Nation RV adds a splash of adventure to this practical event designed to help people recognize talents they already possess.
Local drivers, brace yourselves for a reshuffling of your regular routes. Bell Road and Harriott Road closures are arriving in quick succession, while U.S. 42 southbound and State Route 736 continue their longer-term construction projects. In more somber news, the community mourns the loss of M. Jeanne Huffman, whose infectious laugh and generous hugs complemented her 21-year career as a McGraw-Hill senior editor after years of teaching mathematics to local students.
