🚶♀️ Marysville's annual walk fights suicide with community strength. The 5th Annual Suicide Prevention & Awareness Walk will take place Saturday, September 20, at the Union County Courthouse in Marysville. Free registration opens at 9 a.m. with complimentary breakfast provided by the Union County Rainbow Coalition, followed by the walk at 10 a.m. Special guests include the Marysville High School Symphonic Choir and Tony Coder, Director of the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation. Participants are encouraged to walk in honor of loved ones and create signs to raise awareness for this important cause.
🌱 North Union FFA elects new leadership team for 2025-2026. Ten high school students were voted into officer positions, including President Ben Bonnell and three Vice Presidents. The chapter also installed six middle school officers who will support the high school team while strengthening the middle school program. Many of these student leaders have already achieved success at state and national levels in various competitions. These sixteen officers have taken charge of the FFA program and are reportedly experiencing early success in their leadership roles.
🎓 Ohio tech center earns perfect score on state report card. Tolles Career & Technical Center received an overall 5-star rating from the Ohio Department of Education while meeting all federal indicators with 100% compliance. The school excelled with 5-star ratings in career readiness (110.4%), graduation rate (97.8% four-year), and post-program outcomes (92.2% placement). Superintendent Dr. Todd Hoadley credited the success to dedicated students, faculty and staff, noting that graduates are well-prepared for college and careers. Tolles serves over 1,300 students from seven partner districts and maintains an impressive 95% graduation rate.
