🏆 Little genius wins big

Good morning, Union County. Move over, NASA engineers—there's a new innovator in town! A Marysville second grader has claimed victory in a statewide engineering contest, proving that brilliant minds come in all sizes. This young STEM superstar beat competitors from across Ohio, bringing home a trophy that might just be taller than they are. Meanwhile, the Jonathan Alder baseball team is celebrating some hardware of their own, with five players earning All-Ohio recognition after an impressive 25-3 season.

Not all local news is worth celebrating, however, as one area driver demonstrated the wrong way to handle a traffic stop. Despite police lights and sirens, a 53-year-old motorist led officers on what might be the world's least effective getaway—a slow-speed chase that ended predictably with arrest. His excuse? He was on the phone and "wasn't paying attention"—words that likely didn't impress the officers or improve his sobriety test results.

🚗 Drunk driver leads police on slow-speed chase, ignoring sirens. Brian Lowe, 53, was arrested Friday after failing to stop for Bellefontaine police who observed his black Ford sedan swerving on the road. Despite police lights and sirens, Lowe ran a stop sign and continued driving erratically before finally stopping.
