Union County • June 2, 2025
Good morning, Union County. After 31 years of dedicated service, Delaware City Schools' Superintendent Heidi Kegley is closing the final chapter of her remarkable career this month. The community gathered Thursday to honor a leader who knew students by name and put their needs first—a testament to how the most effective leadership often comes from those who lead with both head and heart. Mayor Riggle's proclamation acknowledged what the community already knew: Kegley's impact extends far beyond administrative achievements.
Meanwhile, the landscape continues to evolve as Delaware County approves a new four-story apartment building near Tanger Outlet, adding 58 residential units to Berkshire Township. And for families looking toward summer activities, the "Hooked on Jesus Youth Fishing" event offers children more than just fishing skills on August 9—combining outdoor education with spiritual connections at Romans 1:20 Christian Retreat's stocked ponds.
