Good morning, Union County. The roar of engines and the spirit of community will converge this Friday as Honda Marysville Motorsports hosts their ultimate car and bike meetup. More than just a showcase of custom vehicles and cutting-edge technology, this free event transforms into a celebration of local generosity with all donations supporting IMPACT60's community initiatives—proving that sometimes the most powerful engines are those driving positive change.
Meanwhile, a different kind of revolution is underway at Raymond Elementary, where six fourth graders known as the "2024 Kindness Crew" are creating a culture of compassion throughout their school. Their efforts to welcome newcomers and create a Kindness Garden arrive as the community also reflects on the legacy of veteran leader "Red" Foughty, whose Memorial Day passing marks the end of a life dedicated to service—from his Air Force days to his instrumental leadership at VFW Post 3320.

💖 Six fourth graders lead kindness revolution at Raymond Elementary. The 2024 Kindness Crew, selected by their peers for exceptional compassion, welcomes new students and recognizes acts of kindness throughout the school. Eme Lent, Aislee Stowell, Brayden Miller, Aaiden McDowell, Lyla Sigler, and Hazel Spain take on leadership roles to ensure everyone feels they belong. The young leaders are currently collaborating with Principal Erica Sypek to create a Kindness Garden near the cafeteria as a lasting symbol of community spirit. "We think every school should have a Kindness Crew," the students share, hoping their positive actions inspire others.
🇺🇸 Veteran leader "Red" Foughty leaves behind legacy of service at 81. The Vietnam-era Air Force mechanic passed away peacefully on Memorial Day at his son's home in Richwood. As longtime Commander of Marysville VFW Post 3320, Red was instrumental in establishing the post and acquiring its current location. Beyond his 36-year career at Goodyear, he championed veteran causes, youth sports, and community programs like the VFW's "Voice of Democracy" scholarship initiative. "Papaw" will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, veterans, and Union County.
