💔 Innocent bystander killed in Akron crossfire. A 25-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday morning when he was unintentionally caught between two unknown shooters in Highland Square. Police responded to West Market Street around 12:25 a.m., finding the victim with a gunshot wound that later proved fatal at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. Akron Police Chief Brian Harding expressed condolences and promised tireless efforts to identify those responsible, while Mayor Shammas Malik condemned the "awful and completely unacceptable" violence, pledging to pursue the perpetrators and address safety concerns in the neighborhood.
