Good morning, Summit County. The calendar might say summer's winding down, but community spirit is heating up across our region. Akron's Pride Benefit Brunch is stirring up excitement for next August, bringing together vibrant performances, waffles, and mimosas in a celebration that does more than entertain—it directly supports Trans Joy Akron through a partnership with local LGBTQ+ organizations.

Financial relief is on the horizon for many homeowners as Summit County prepares to host a special tax education event on September 4, offering veterans and seniors valuable information about property tax exemptions. Meanwhile, education innovation takes center stage at Dreams Academy, where two dedicated educators have created a groundbreaking private school specifically designed to build success pathways for young Black boys through representation, early career exposure, and strong community involvement—potentially creating a template that could transform educational approaches well beyond Akron.
