🎨 University of Akron creates revolutionary eco-friendly art conservation adhesive. The new BEVA 371 Akron, developed in partnership with NYU, offers a safer alternative to the widely-used conservation adhesive that had key ingredients discontinued. Funded by the Getty Foundation, this phthalate-free formula maintains the original's performance while eliminating health risks associated with older materials. The adhesive will be used for "lining" - attaching supplemental canvas to protect valuable artwork. Available in three versions, the innovation ensures that conservators worldwide can continue their critical work preserving cultural heritage.
