Good morning, Summit County. Firestone South is witnessing a battle of international golf legends as Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez, at a remarkable 61 years old, shares the lead with New Zealand's Steven Alker in the Kaulig Companies Championship. The charismatic Spaniard's pursuit of his fourth victory this year adds local excitement to the PGA Tour Champions major being contested right in our backyard, with the winner earning a coveted spot in next year's Players Championship.

Meanwhile, Marietta schools are embracing a healthcare innovation through Akron Children's Hospital's telehealth services, designed to keep students in classrooms rather than waiting rooms. And in a sobering development from the justice system, a 22-year-old Akron man will serve over eight years in federal prison after authorities uncovered a significant drug trafficking operation involving methamphetamine and fentanyl, highlighting ongoing law enforcement efforts to address substance distribution in our region.

🏥 Marietta schools choose Akron Children's Hospital for student health services. The school board entered a Memorandum of Understanding with Akron Children's Hospital over Nationwide during Friday's special meeting. Board members favored Akron's telehealth approach, which allows students to receive treatment at school and return to class, helping reduce chronic absenteeism that affects academic performance. The board also discussed but made no decision on a proposal from Highland Electric to provide electric buses through an EPA grant. Board member John Lehman expressed skepticism about electric vehicles, claiming they "pollute four to five times more than diesel engines."
