Good morning, Summit County. The skies above Akron made history this week as three Goodyear blimps soared in formation, marking a dual celebration of the city's impressive 200-year journey and the iconic airships' own centennial milestone. Mayor Malik's bicentennial State of the City address balanced acknowledging challenges with celebrating achievements, reflecting how Akron has continuously reinvented itself—from abolitionist hub to rubber capital to musical center—throughout its two centuries of passionate community building.

Meanwhile, education takes tangible form as Akron Public Schools students showcase their real-world skills by crafting the board's impressive new meeting table. The project highlights the practical education happening in Construction and Welding pathways even as the district navigates challenging decisions about building projects and budget cuts. Over in Granger Township, officials are exploring creative solutions to infrastructure needs, demonstrating how innovation happens at every level of local government.
