Good morning, Summit County. Behind every exceptional educator lies a story of purpose, and 24-year-old Sadie Owens embodies this truth. The director of Empowered Early Learning Academy in Canton returned to her hometown with a mission forged while teaching creative writing to incarcerated juveniles—helping children discover themselves through education. While she starts each day with Wordle and a carefully curated Spotify playlist, her real soundtrack is the progress of her preschoolers benefiting from her innovative blend of education and behavioral health services.

Meanwhile, two high-profile police shooting investigations have reached a pivotal stage, with cases involving 15-year-old Jazmir Tucker and Michael Jones now moving to outside prosecutors for review. In lighter news, country music fans were treated to a summer kickoff celebration as Jason Aldean rocked a sold-out Blossom Music Center last week, with enthusiastic tailgaters and memorabilia collectors creating a festival atmosphere well before the first note was played.
