Good morning, Summit County. After 300 days of hospital rooms and medical equipment, 10-year-old Ava Cooper has finally made it home. The Akron resident's heart transplant journey represents both a medical miracle and the beginning of a new chapter filled with ongoing challenges. Her father describes it as "24/7 care," yet amid the medication schedules and hospital visits, there's an undeniable sense that Ava has, in her mother's words, "been given this gift to do something amazing."

The forecast calls for a thoroughly soggy week ahead, with thunderstorms potentially dumping half an inch of rain across Greater Akron on Tuesday. While Thursday brings warmer temperatures reaching the 80s, it also carries an increased risk of severe storms. On the business front, Akron-based Babcock & Wilcox continues to face headwinds, reporting a $22 million first-quarter loss as its stock price dropped to just 65 cents—down significantly from $1.29 a year ago.
