Good morning, Summit County. When severe weather threatens, timing is everything. Today's forecast brings a particularly concerning window from 2-5pm when thunderstorms packing damaging winds and large hail are expected to roll through our area. The National Weather Service has specifically flagged locations along and east of I-71 for heightened risk, so consider adjusting any Monday afternoon plans accordingly as we navigate through this unsettled weather pattern.

On brighter notes, Akron Children's Hospital has launched its "More childhood, please" awards to celebrate those making a difference in youth health across Northeast Ohio. With nominations open until May 22, it's a wonderful opportunity to recognize community champions. Meanwhile, families can mark their calendars for June 5, when Lock 3 transforms into a free summer bash complete with games, food and resources to help keep kids engaged during the vacation months ahead.
