🚔 Justice in motion

Summit County • April 8, 2025

Good morning, Summit County. Swift justice followed Friday night's shooting near Park Lane Manor, with Akron police quickly apprehending 21-year-old James McNeil. While the victim's injuries weren't life-threatening, the incident adds another chapter to our community's ongoing conversation about public safety—a stark contrast to the uplifting news that the legendary New York Staff Band will bring their brass brilliance to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church next April for a rare, free concert that music lovers won't want to miss.

The long arm of the law continues to reach inside prison walls, with convicted murderer Antonio Miller receiving an additional 16.5 years for major drug trafficking. Already serving life for the murder of his former girlfriend's mother, Miller's guilty plea to trafficking massive quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl demonstrates our justice system's commitment to accountability, regardless of whether someone is already behind bars. The discovery of firearms and $82,000 in cash during his 2021 arrest painted a troubling picture of his criminal enterprise.
