🚜 Market homecoming

Scioto County • August 20, 2025

Good morning, Scioto County. History comes full circle this weekend as the Ironton Farmers Market returns to its ancestral home in front of Memorial Hall. While Thunder on the River bike rally rumbles through downtown, local vendors will be setting up their stalls of homegrown produce and handcrafted goods on the very spot where farmers gathered to sell their wares before the hall itself existed—a delightful blend of nostalgia and necessity as these two community traditions share the spotlight.

Educational opportunities are expanding their reach across our region as well. Ashland Community and Technical College has extended its Career Services hours to accommodate more student schedules, now offering guidance five days a week at the Technology Drive Campus. And mark your calendars—the New Boston School Board has scheduled what promises to be an important meeting for August 21, giving residents a chance to participate in shaping local education at a critical moment for our schools.
