Scioto County • July 21, 2025
Good morning, Scioto County. The curtain has fallen at Winchester steakhouse after a six-year run at Ashland's Delta Hotel, with management giving diners until August 1 to redeem those gift cards tucked away in drawers. While one culinary chapter closes, another begins as Tuscan Prime Italian Chophouse prepares to take the stage, bringing handcrafted pastas alongside the Guitar Bar and Bourbon Bar that locals have come to love.
Meanwhile, multi-sport standout Lainee Barr is making her mark at Peebles High School, balancing soccer, basketball, and volleyball while dreaming of trading places with basketball phenom Caitlin Clark. In less celebratory news, the Paramount Arts Center is dealing with aftermath from alleged vandalism, as James Horn faces multiple charges following damage to the historic theater's doors and ticket booth. The 47-year-old's not guilty plea sets the stage for his return to court in late August.
