Good morning, Scioto County. The numbers tell a remarkable story at the Huntington Children's Museum, where 27,000 visitors in just one year have transformed a simple concept—"learning through play"—into a thriving community cornerstone. From teddy bear sleepovers to partnerships ensuring accessibility for all children, this success story demonstrates how thoughtfully designed spaces can bring generations together while nurturing young minds.

In entertainment news, the yellow brick road leads straight to Greenbo Lake State Resort Park this week, where free performances of "OZ!" invite families to experience the magic of L. Frank Baum's classic tale under summer skies. The timing couldn't be better for families seeking budget-friendly entertainment, offering a delightful contrast to more sobering local headlines about drug trafficking sentences handed down in Lawrence County courts.

🧸 Huntington Children's Museum celebrates 27,000 visitors in first year. Since opening in July 2024, the museum has become a vibrant hub for "learning through play" with events like Kids Fest and the popular Teddy Bear Night sleepover. Executive Director Raine Klover highlighted meaningful partnerships with organizations like Ronald McDonald House and Branches Domestic Violence Shelter, ensuring accessibility for all children regardless of circumstances. Looking ahead, the museum plans to expand with a sensory garden, renovated front room, and more adult programming, continuing its mission as a community space where both children and grown-ups can learn and grow together.
