Good morning, Scioto County. The wheels of justice turned at remarkable speed last week as the county Grand Jury returned 13 indictments in a single day. Among the serious charges, two 17-year-olds face attempted murder counts, while other indictments range from aggravated burglary to drug trafficking—a snapshot of the criminal justice system's ongoing work to address community safety concerns.

Summer construction season is in full swing across county roadways, with ODOT tackling three major projects simultaneously. While State Route 823 and U.S. 52 face lane restrictions, the most significant impact comes from State Route 335's complete closure for bridge replacement until fall. In the midst of these infrastructure improvements, Valley Local Schools will hold their regular board meeting Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in the high school library, providing residents an opportunity to stay informed about educational matters.
