Good morning, Scioto County. The sounds of patriotic music and marching feet will fill Ironton's streets next week as the historic Memorial Day Parade kicks off with a full slate of events. Beginning Thursday with Navy Night featuring Lt. Col. Sean Dulaney and culminating in Monday's grand procession, this time-honored tradition reminds us of the profound sacrifices made for our freedoms. The celebration's return marks another chapter in our region's deep connection to military service.

Speaking of returns, a beloved voice has found its way back to local airwaves. After years of silence, 1230 WiTO is once again broadcasting classic hits across Ironton, thanks to the dedication of Bryan and Jody Fowler. Their restoration efforts parallel another heartwarming comeback story at South Point Elementary, where Principal Bill Christian has fully recovered from last October's attack to participate in the school's "Heroes Day Parade" – proving that resilience runs deep in our community.

πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ South Point Elementary honors heroes after principal's brave recovery from attack. The school hosted a "Heroes Day Parade" where students dressed as first responders and wore patriotic colors to thank those who helped during a crisis. Last October, Principal Bill Christian was stabbed by a parent during a school incident that led to a two-week closure. Christian, now fully recovered, expressed gratitude to police and emergency personnel who responded quickly that day. Students showed special appreciation for their principal, with one class carrying a "Bill Christian Fan Club" sign to honor his protection during the frightening ordeal.
