Good morning, Scioto County. Mark your calendars for a health investment that won't cost you a dime. This Saturday, PSKC Crossfit opens its doors for a free nutrition town hall where expert Dale King will break down how food choices impact your wellbeing. In a region where accessible health education can be transformative, this hour-long event offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical knowledge without opening your wallet.

Meanwhile, relief is coming for frustrated commuters as U.S. 33 secures an $82 million expansion to address traffic that's skyrocketed from 34,000 to 54,000 daily vehicles since 2003. The project represents just one slice of Ohio's $319.3 million transportation investment pie. In more sobering news, authorities are searching for the driver of a Dodge Dakota pickup who struck a 2-year-old boy in Jackson County before fleeing the scene, leaving the toddler hospitalized but stable.

🥎 Softball Scoreboard

The Portsmouth West Senators squeezed past the Waverly Tigers 4-3 in a nail-biter that had fans holding their breath until the final out. With the win, the Senators improve to 8-6 and look to keep their momentum rolling against Gallia Academy this weekend, while the Tigers (5-9) will need to shake off this heartbreaker before facing Chillicothe tomorrow. Sometimes in softball, as in life, the margin between victory and defeat is as thin as the chalk lines on the diamond.
