📍 Musical magic awaits

Scioto County • February 14, 2025

Good morning, Scioto County. From the rolling hills of Italy to the heart of Appalachia, a musical journey centuries in the making is about to unfold at OU Southern. Alla Boara, a six-piece ensemble that transforms ancient Italian folk songs into contemporary masterpieces, is bringing their NPR-acclaimed sound to the Riffe Rotunda. Think of it as a time machine powered by passionate vocals and innovative percussion, where old-world melodies meet modern arrangements.

Meanwhile, just across the river, a three-legged dynamo named Eeyore is proving that happiness runs on three wheels just fine. This tail-wagging ambassador at the Ashland Animal Rescue Fund is living proof that sometimes life's best stories come with a slight limp and an unstoppable spirit. While AARF continues their mission of second chances, Eeyore's showing everyone that joy doesn't need spare parts - just an open heart.

🐕 Three-legged Kentucky shelter dog proves happiness needs no spare parts. Named after the gloomy Winnie the Pooh character, 3-year-old Eeyore is anything but depressed at the Ashland Animal Rescue Fund. This "tail-wagging machine" can still run, play, and zoom despite missing a leg, and shelter staff describe him as a shaggy, snuggly teddy bear. The people-friendly, house-trained pup is seeking a forever home after parting ways with his previous owner. Though he's food and toy aggressive, Eeyore gets along well with other pets and children.
