Good morning, Ross County. The calendar may say October, but Chillicothe police faced July-level chaos with 17 incidents in a single Sunday—from midnight disorderly conduct calls to drug possession cases, thefts, and even a hit-skip crash. The day's marathon of mayhem culminated with the arrest of Andrew McCutcheon on a criminal trespass warrant, proving that even weekends offer no rest for our local officers.
Fall festivities are brewing with the Halloween Festival returning to Yoctangee Park October 10-12, bringing the beloved coffin races and a new "Where's Jack?" scavenger hunt alongside a Hollywood touch—actor Patrick Miller and the iconic Green Goblin truck from Stephen King's Maximum Overdrive. Meanwhile, local politics are picking up steam as Ross County Republicans host candidate meet-and-greets, with the next event featuring Municipal Court judge candidates on October 9th in Richmond Dale.

🎃 Chillicothe's Halloween Festival returns with three days of spooky fun. The beloved community tradition, running October 10-12 in Yoctangee Park, features a haunted house, costume contest, and the hilarious coffin races that draw big crowds. This year's festival introduces the "Where's Jack?" scavenger hunt and welcomes actor Patrick Miller from Stephen King's Maximum Overdrive alongside the iconic Green Goblin truck. Organized by volunteers, the festival raises funds that support local charities through grants, making every pumpkin and hot dog part of something larger for Ross County.
🗳️ Ross County Republicans host candidate meet-and-greets ahead of fall elections. Six Republican candidates, including four incumbent council members and two Municipal Court hopefuls, introduced themselves to constituents at Yaple's Orchard on September 4th. The Republicans plan additional events throughout the county's wards, with the next featuring Municipal Court judge candidates on October 9th in Richmond Dale. Interested voters can visit the Republican Women's office on third Tuesdays or check their Facebook page for information.
