Ohio University-Chillicothe nursing students will host a Community Health Fair on October 14, 2025, from 10am to 4pm at Bennett Hall. Ross County Health District will offer Flu and COVID-19 vaccines during the fair and the following day. The interactive exhibits provide nursing students valuable real-world experience while serving the local community's health needs.
🚓 Chillicothe police tackle 16 incidents in action-packed Saturday. Officers responded to various calls on October 4, including criminal trespass, vehicle theft, and domestic violence across the city. One serious incident involved a woman reporting her boyfriend pointed a gun at her, resulting in an arrest. Police also made multiple warrant arrests, including Salena Mitchell who was transferred to Ross County Jail for failure to appear. Several cases remain under investigation, including a stolen vehicle report at Kroger and a suicidal person call on East Water Street.
🚚 Monster truck magic comes to Pickaway County this weekend. Patrick Enterprises, Inc. is celebrating 40 years in business with their 14th Annual Open House on October 11 at their Circleville facility. The free event features monster truck rides, facility tours, team meet-and-greets, bounce houses, and exclusive merchandise. Chris Patrick, who runs the business with husband Dan, says many locals are surprised to learn monster trucks are built in their community—"the best kept secret in Pickaway County." The family business has global reach, with team members currently performing in New Zealand's Hot Wheels Monster Trucks tour.
