🛣️ ODOT seeks public input for Pike County road reconstruction. The Ohio Department of Transportation's District Nine is gathering feedback on a planned project affecting County Roads 4, 50, and 66. The first proposed location targets Pike Lake Road (CR 4) between specific mile markers in Benton Township's rural area. Officials note the project will not require new right-of-way acquisition. Additionally, no rivers, streams, or wetlands will be impacted by the construction work.
📚 Childhood book inspired mom to write children's adventure story. Samantha Jones, a Chillicothe author, recently published "Riley's Purple Adventure" after her father returned a book she wrote in middle school. The children's tale follows her two dogs and two sons on a colorful journey filled with imagination. Jones was motivated to create the story after rediscovering her childhood creativity through her original work about a family dog's adventure. Now a wife and mother, she channeled that youthful imagination into a new story reflecting her current life.
📉 Ohio jobless claims drop as national numbers also decline. Initial unemployment filings in the state fell to 4,622 for the week ending September 13, down from 4,762 the previous week.
