Good morning, Ross County. The next time State Route 41 floods between Free Lane and Cliff Run Road, there's finally a fix on the horizon. ODOT is planning major drainage improvements in Paint Township, though it will come with a hefty 20-mile detour during construction. Residents have until July 10 to weigh in on the project that could permanently solve these persistent flooding issues.

In other local happenings, high school sports enthusiasts have a mission โ€“ crown the ultimate Team of the Year by casting votes before Friday's deadline. The Chillicothe Paints wrapped up their inaugural season with a standing ovation despite a heartbreaking 4-3 loss in their final home game. Meanwhile, coffee-loving women have reason to celebrate, as Harvard researchers found that three daily cups of caffeinated coffee might be the secret weapon for healthy aging โ€“ keeping both mind and body sharper for decades to come.

๐Ÿšง Ohio road project aims to fix flooding on State Route 41. The Ohio Department of Transportation is seeking public input on drainage improvements between Free Lane and Cliff Run Road in Paint Township. The project requires acquiring small portions of residential and wooded land for right-of-way access. During construction, the roadway will be completely closed with a 20-mile detour through U.S. 50, Ohio 753, and Ohio 28. Public comments on the project should be submitted to ODOT by July 10, 2023.

โ˜• Coffee may be women's secret weapon for healthy aging. A Harvard study of nearly 50,000 women found that drinking caffeinated coffee daily could help women maintain mental sharpness and physical strength as they age. The research, presented at the American Society for Nutrition meeting, tracked participants for three decades and found "healthy agers" consumed about three small cups of coffee daily. Interestingly, the benefits were unique to caffeinated coffeeโ€”tea, decaf, and especially soda didn't provide the same positive effects. The study represents the first comprehensive look at coffee's impact across multiple domains of aging.
