Good morning, Ross County. Law enforcement had their hands full this week, with Chillicothe police and sheriff's deputies responding to a combined 39 incidents in a single day. From parking complaints to more serious investigations, our officers remained vigilant—including Officer Chance Blankenship, whose routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a 21-year-old with active warrants and suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl in his possession.

As we head into the holiday weekend, take note that Memorial Day will bring closures across Chillicothe on Monday, May 26. Banks, postal services, the library, transit system, and health district will all observe the federal holiday. Before the official day of remembrance, community members can honor fallen service members at the Feast of the Flowering Moon's Memorial Day service on May 24 at Veterans Memorial Park, followed by a parade at 4:30 p.m.
