πŸŽ– Honor and heroics

Ross County • January 28, 2025

Good morning, Ross County. In a powerful reminder that heroes walk among us, Point 27's touching tribute to fallen corrections officer Andrew Lansing strikes at the heart of what makes our community special. The Atlanta nonprofit's gift of scripture-inscribed Thin Blue Line dog tags honors not just Lansing's ultimate sacrifice on Christmas Day, but his legacy of service - from his time in the U.S. Army to his dedication at Ross Correctional Institution.

Speaking of protecting the vulnerable, local law enforcement has been busy writing a different kind of justice story. From rescuing malnourished dogs from a Taco Bell diet (yes, really) to chasing down a stolen U-Haul through Chillicothe's streets, our officers continue showing why they deserve those dog tags - though we're pretty sure high-speed pursuits weren't what U-Haul meant by "adventure in moving."

πŸ™ Ohio corrections officer killed on Christmas Day while protecting others. Point 27, an Atlanta-based nonprofit, honored fallen officer Andrew Lansing by sending scripture-inscribed Thin Blue Line dog tags to his fellow officers at Ross Correctional Institution. Lansing, a U.S. Army veteran, was tragically killed by an inmate in the prison yard during his service. His family received special Folded Flag Pendant Keepsake Necklaces inscribed with meaningful Bible verses. The tribute gifts aim to show support for law enforcement officers and their families during increasingly challenging times for the profession.
