🎤 Swift throwback

Ross County • December 18, 2024

Good morning, Ross County. If you've been missing Taylor Swift since the end of her Eras Tour, you can reminisce about her early days with a throwback to her unforgettable 2007 concert in Chillicothe. Meanwhile, in the world of drones, a recent sighting at Wright-Patterson AFB led to a temporary airspace shutdown, reminding us to keep our drone antics compliant with the law. On a lighter note, Ohio's county fairs are gearing up for 2025, while Ross County home prices have dipped slightly this November, despite homes selling quickly. And just to shake things up, a minor earthquake recently rattled Chesapeake, proving that Ohio can experience some tremors too.

🛩️ Drones cause a stir at Wright-Patterson AFB. Over the weekend, unidentified drones prompted a temporary shutdown of the airspace around Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for roughly four hours, according to the Dayton Daily News. With drone sightings making headlines from New Jersey to Ohio, residents are left wondering about the legality of shooting them down. However, The Ohio Bar Association clarifies that disarming someone else’s drone is a federal offense. Ohio laws also prohibit using drones for hunting—except for assisting in the recovery of game like deer—unless you want to face some hefty penalties. It's a gentle reminder to keep the drone shenanigans to a minimum and stay within the legal flight path!
