Good morning, Preble County. Devil's Backbone Park has undergone a remarkable transformation that speaks volumes about local community spirit. What once needed attention now boasts a repaved entrance road, expanded parking, upgraded hiking trails, and a striking new entrance featuring a massive Pennsylvania bluestone sign. The most impressive part? This revitalization happened entirely without county tax funding, relying instead on local businesses, volunteers, and the generous Wagers family.

Meanwhile, economic growth continues to gain momentum in the region with Trotwood Industrial Park's massive 158,000 square foot expansion receiving council approval. The development includes Community Reinvestment Area deals to stimulate further growth. In neighboring Richmond, community voices made themselves heard at the recent "No Kings Rally," where educators, students and local leaders gathered at Jack Elstro Plaza before lining North A Street with signs—capturing the passionate civic engagement that defines our region.

🌲 Community spirit transforms Devil's Backbone Park with impressive upgrades. Volunteers and donors have revitalized the Preble County park with a repaved entrance road, 12 additional parking spaces, and upgraded hiking trails featuring scenic overlooks. The standout improvement is a striking new entrance featuring a two-ton Pennsylvania bluestone sign and historic granite cobblestones recovered from a Kentucky landfill. The project, completed without county tax funding, was made possible through contributions from local businesses and dedicated volunteers, with the Wagers family providing both design expertise and financial support. The park district continues to operate through foundation support, donations, and volunteer efforts to maintain a natural, unspoiled environment for families.

The city council approved development plans that will significantly enlarge the Trotwood Industrial Park, continuing the city's recent economic growth momentum. This expansion is part of Trotwood's ongoing efforts to attract more companies to the area. The approval includes Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) deals, likely offering tax incentives to stimulate development. This project aligns with broader economic development trends in the Dayton region, which has been identified as a growth driver in JobsOhio's economic blueprint.
