🚤 A 20-year-old man vanished after his kayak overturned in a lake. Search crews are pausing water operations to allow the private lake near New Paris to calm down, but continue monitoring with drones. Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson reported the incident began around 1:30 a.m. Sunday when the victim chased a floating kayak. Another person attempted to rescue him but was unsuccessful, waiting 20-30 minutes before calling 911. Multiple agencies have joined the search effort, with plans to deploy sonar equipment if the body doesn't surface soon.
